Digital Paintings

In quarantine, my girlfriend, being a very good painter / artist herself, got me interested in picking up the hobby aswell. After some initial doodling and fooling around, I wanted to try to draw something inspired by my late uncle Christophe Badoux's preferred method of drawing: "Ligne Claire".

Having a long-lasting interest in photography, I like the idea of drawing pictures based on photographs.

The first one I drew is based on a photograph of the sun setting on the "Kornhausbrücke" in Zurich which I took on a walk home.

The second one is based on a picture taken in Greece. I really liked the challenge of drawing water.

Process

I started both pictures as pencil sketches. The Kornhausbrücke one I traced with fineliner and then scanned it. The one from Greece I scanned directly.

I then traced the scanned sketches in Photoshop.

Finally, I colored and shaded them.
